About us
The Silverthorn(e) surname has its origin perhaps from the Old English words "seolfor" (silver) and "thorn" (thorn bush).
Efforts by American genealogists Frank Hodgekins Silverthorn and his great nephew, Frank Fremont Reed, have documented many branches of the family back to the early 1400s in England. Much of the family tree data from their work is included here:

The unofficial coat of arms and crest for the surname Silverthorn that appears here comes from the Bristol/Bath area of Wiltshire, England. These arms and crest are documented in Fairbairn's Crests of the Leading Families in Great Britain and Ireland (1911).
