Sikes - Sykes Family Y-DNA Project

As of 21 August 2022, there are 109 Y-DNA tests at all levels completed by Family Tree DNA, the DNA results match the most populous groups tested by Bryan Sykes.  There is also Family Finder (Autosomal DNA) and mtDNA (Mitochondrial DNA)  tests completed by some members, but we are primarily a Y-DNA project at this point.

To see Sikes-Sykes Y-DNA Test results use "DNA results", and then "Colorize chart" on the left.

Your result displayed can be enhanced by having your oldest known Sikes or Sykes Ancestors listed.  This is the example that FTDNA gives "John Smith b. 1850 and d 1925" for entering your Paternal Ancestor name, note no location and one generation.   This information helps others looking at your data to know a little about your early family, I would advice not putting any living persons data up for this public display.

I suggest you shows more detail and three generations. Example: "Richard Sikes bc 1600 Eng d 1676 MA, Victory, Jonathan", see test # 69635 in the R - Richard Sikes of Mass. grouping.  The problem is that this field will only displays 50 characters, including spaces.  Use abbreviations,  Example:  Eng for England, MA for Massachusetts, NY for New York, VA for Virginia, b for born, bc for born about, etc...  If you have long names maybe only two generations will show.

Your result can be here also.  If tested by Family Tree while not part of the project you can still join.  If you were tested by a facility other than Family Tree DNA you can download your data and then join.
