Seery-Sierer French Research

It has been found that a group of US testers, surnamed Seery, can trace their Y DNA back to a Jacob Sierer (b. 1713 d. 1785) from Alsace, France. Thus, proving that one origin of the Seery surname found in the US is derived from Sierer.

Freeman-Seery Irish Research

The key points of the research so far can be summarised as:

1. 7 tested Freemans from County Mayo & County Roscommon are related, some to a closer degree than others.

2. Four may be direct descendants from Laughlin Freeman (b.1699 d.1774) of Aghamore, County Mayo.

3. One Freeman from County Roscommon appears unrelated.

4. The Freeman surname would have been Seery pre-1820’s

5. The related Freemans of our cluster have their deeper origins in County Westmeath.
