Applying ftdna’s new tool, Group Time Tree to our Group A, the SNP R-Y50968 is placed at 1500CE, with a dashed line, horizontal extending back to c1250 and forward to about 1700; the blue solid lines tie together the 3 kits in Group A to this SNP—so it seems a range of time is roughly shown with the dashs, c1250 to c1700, with 1500 say the midpoint...

Fortunately, YFULL pinpoints the timeframe more specifically.  YFull informs us that this SNP was created 349 years before present, or ybp.  I always have a tough time at determining the year to start this count backwards for a calculation.  Some say to start at 1950 but then I think that was say, not right any longer- please advise.  Using that 1950 date as a perhaps wrong starting point minus 349 yrs, seems to reach about the yr 1601 [1950 minus 349].  So use about 1600 for SNP being created, with caution, —not TMRCA or time to most recent common ancestor—a different figure….More BIGY700 results need to order BAM files, and then upload

their ftdna BAM file into YFULL (a separate company) for analysis--a nominal charge exists--- but then the TMRCA figures would arise over time.
