Initial results show that some SANSOMs belong to the J2 haplogroup.

There has been active traditional genealogical work undertaken with respect to the SANSOM surname. Thus far the work has centred on 18th and 19th century SANSOMs in England, particularly those born in southern England, such as Devon and Dorset.
