A number of years ago, a Salisbury DNA project was begun outside of FTDNA by Joan Salisbury.  I contacted her and recommended that this study be moved here, as there was the opportunity to encourage greater participation.  One of the goals was to sort out the Bloodline of the Early Colonial Salisbury family.  This has not gone entirely as planned! There appear to be many different YDNA signatures, almost none of whom actually match.   This leads to the suspicion that there is a place in common with this name, more than a bloodline.  This could also indicate many adoptions, but the number of non matching participants does seem to indicate otherwise. SNP testing might be the only way to sort that out.
