The goals of this project will be to determine if the Rooker surname in the United States share a common ancestor or if we have multiple unrelated branches.  We hope to discover matches between the USA and other countries that will enable participants to expand their knowledge of their deep Rooker ancestral origins.

Currently we have participants that can trace their lineage, who appear to be possible descendants of Joseph Rooker of Whitehall, NY.  Using Joseph's genetic finger print, the Y DNA test will be the definitive confirmation of common ancestry especially where paper trails are lacking.    

The Y Chromosome test can confirm which Rooker lines share a common male ancestor between project participants.
