About us
According to an autosomal DNA test from another source, the paternal haplogroup is R1b1b2a1a2d3*.
The primary present lineage is traced back to what we believe is Alpine German, Swiss, French and Scottish genetic path.
It is expected currently that these lines are from either of the Swiss Palatine settlements arriving in Colonial New York and the Province of Carolina founding what was called Neuse Bern, and then a little later New Bern.
Christoph von Graffenried, 1st Baron of Bernberg, also known as Christoph de Graffenried, (15 November 1661 – 1743) was a British peer from Switzerland who founded New Bern, Carolina, in 1710. Today, he is best known for his memoir, Relation of My American Project (c. 1716), which recounts his life as the Baron of Bernburg and Landgrave of Carolina.
At New Bern a portion of 50 or so of the initial settlers were in disagreement with the Swiss Palatines and grouped together and set out for the interior of Carolina, indeed the frontier at that time. The settled on what was then Duplin County with the Irish found there. This is evidenced in the Moseley Map of 1733.
We hope your DNA can help us solve this long and impeding enigma. Welcome!
