About us
Goal is to confirm the ancestry of Jakob RINN (b. 1809, d. 1880), who, with his second wife Anna Margarethe WELLER (b. 1807, d. 1880), emigrated 1851 from Heuchelheim (by Giessen), Hessen, Germany. The family settled first in Evanston, then in Hampshire, Illinois. Jakob had a brother Wilhelm RINN (b. 1821, d. 1900) who also emigrated and settled nearby in Chicago. This project applies to Wilhelm's descendants as well. The male offspring of Jakob RINN and Anna Margarethe WELLER are Friedrich RINN (b. 1844, d. 1864), Wilhelm RINN (b. 1846, d. 1884), and Heinrich RINN (b. 1850, d. 1937). Two surviving sons from Jakob RINN's first marriage with Elisabeth Margaretha METZLER (b. 1809, d. 1842), also emigrated with the family in 1851: Jakob RINN Jr. (b. 1836, d. 1928) and Phillip RINN (b. 1840, d. 1903).
