About us
The Rankin DNA Project began in 2006 with just two YDNA test participants. The project had no administrator, so Hazel Townsend (who has Rankin cousins) volunteered. Later that year, the project moved to World Families.net. That organization ended its project administration services in May 2018. As a result, the entire project is located at this FTDNA site.
The project has come a long way, and is now approaching 240 members. There are about 70 men who have YDNA tested who either have the surname Rankin or whose YDNA proves then to be genetic Rankins. We hope to continue growing and enhancing members' Rankin family research. Please feel free to post your questions, comments and/or suggestions on the "Activity Feed" at the home page, or contact an administrator directly.
