About us

The Ramage family of Laurens County, South Carolina was one of the earliest known Ramage families to migrate to the United States of America. By 1720, members of this family had settled in Newcastle County, Deleware (we think from Ireland). Members of the family later settled in Pennsylvania before John Ramage migrated to what is now Laurens County, South Carolina during the 1760's. The second generation of Ramages were: Capt. Joseph Ramage; Elizabeth Ramage Ewing; James Ramage (who settled in Livingston County, Kentucky); Mary Ramage Dillard; Josiah Ramage (who settled in Livingston County, Kentucky); and Benjamin Ramage.
