About us
If you are SNP tested as positive for FT45711 or are a Y67/Y111 match to someone who is, please join the project. This includes people who know they are negative for FT45711, we may be able to help identify other Y67/111 testers who are more likely to fall closer to you than to FT45711. Y37 only testers with a similar relatively uncommon surname to a Y37 match who is positive for FT45711 are also welcome.
FT45711 positive people in the Big-Y Block Tree have stated that their earliest known male ancestor is from England, Scotland, Ireland, or the Isle of Man. There are also some people who haven't yet managed to trace their male line ancestry back from America to Europe.
The aim of the project is to help the people in the sub-branches of the project identify common male ancestors through a mix of Y DNA and genealogical research. For the project as a whole we will not to be able to identify a single common ancestor (they are from 3000-1500BCE, way before the time of surnames and records), but may be able to point to which region the high-level blocks in the block tree were from.
People confirmed within R-FT45711's earliest known male ancestor's surnames include:
