About us

R-A11711 is a Jewish subclade of PF7562>PF7563>Y31335. It's part of the R1b Basal Subclades (not part of the most common R-U016 or R-P312 subclades) and represents a possible Bronze Age migration from Central Asia to the Mediterranean. Project members tested primarily to find matches for genealogy purposes. We found a great story and more questions. Our Project’s Haplogroup's appear to predate the formation of Ashkenazi Jewry in what is now western Germany along the Rhine River valley between 800 CE and 1000 CE. We can surmise that our ancestors came from the Eastern Mediterranean, and Adriatic Sea through the Balkans.
