One of the assumptions of the Prall Family Association is that most Pralls living in the USA are a descendant of the immigrant from the Netherlands, Arendt Jansen Prall (c. 1647 - 1725). Of the nine male participants who have tested their Y chromosome, seven appear to related and descended from Arendt Jansen Prall. Of the two who do not match, one is a native of the Netherlands and the other traces his ancestry to Germany.
As a female, I used the autosomal test, Family Finder, to find Prall cousins. I am in the early stages of checking potential matches and have already found a relative: the third great grandchild of my second great grandmother's sister. I am looking forward to sharing stories about our families that have been handed down through the generations.
