The aim of this project is to research the Portman family, and any genealogical connections associated with this surname, or its variants e.g. Partman, Potman Pitman etc.
Another important objective would be to determine any relationships with any other families (regardless of surname) that might be difficult to prove using traditional methods of genealogical research, via the study of Y chromosome based DNA results.
