This DNA surname project is for the names Peppel and Pepple and any posible close variations. The eventual project results should show a link in the family histories between the families in America and Germany. Our Peppel branch arrived in Philadelphia in 1749 on the Ranier. Since that time they moved through eastern PA, Frederick Co.and western MD, Bedford Co., PA, then on to Columbiana Co.,OH. Family from MD also settled in Southern OH and KY. Our cousins in Germany remain to this day in the Seemen Valley northeast of Frankfurt, Oberseemen, Niederseemen and Mittelseemen.
With this project, we want to show how close both groups relate.
