SCOTTISH ORMONDS:
In early 2025, Y-DNA was taken from a living descendant of the Ormond family originating from Forfar. The earliest confirmed ancestors of the tester being the couple Charles Ormond (1776-abt 1848) and Betty Adamson, the testers great great grandparents.
Initial Y37 testing confirmed Haplogroup E-M35 (which was already suspected from autosomal testing estimation).
The tested individual does not match any individuals above the Y12 Level, indicating a rare or very undertested paternal lineage. Further testing is being undertaken to upgrade to Big Y 700 to enhance the resolution of testing and refine haplogroup further.
