The aim of the group is to research O'Loughlin haplogroup y-DNA to confirm family lines, build family trees, build a picture of how the clan spread and show how different lines are descended from one another. This includes name variants: O'Loughlin, O'Laughlin, O'Loghlen, O'Loghlin, Loughlin, Laughlin, Marrinan & variants, Lofland/Loffland/Lofley, & Nichols so far. This does not include the Mc/MacLaughlin haplogroups. Marrinan, although closely related to the O'Loughlins, have a separate Surname Project.
