We believe that most Nydeggers (possibly spelled Neidegger as well) descended from a reltively few original families within a small region of Canton Bern, Switzerland. The Nydegger DNA project hopes to establish genetic markers for these families and identify distinct genetic lines. This will also aid Nydegger families who have lost their ancestral records to re-establish their genetic realtionships.
