Most Munsons in the USA are either of Scandinavian origin or are descended from Thomas Munson (1612 – 1685) who settled in Connecticutt presumably from Suffolk England see http://www.thomasmunson.org/thomas-munson/ This family's Y is R1b aka R-M269 in the modern nomenclature. Neither male descendant of Thomas Munson in this project has done further SNP testing to look at the deeper origins.
