2012-January:
Gail T started a volunteer project co-administrator and reorganized some of the haplogroup subclades. If you have already completed the full mtDNA genome "Mega" test please feel free to email the volunteer project adminsitrators for an explanation of where you fit in the U2 tree. The mtHVRtoMega upgrade test is needed to determine the location in the tree, however, when possible we have tried to predict the subclade based on HVR test results.

A major new update to the mtDNA tree was published in a new paper by Behar et al. The updated tree for U2 can be viewed at the Phylotree website: http://www.phylotree.org/tree/subtree_U.htm
