Only males have Y-chromosomes, so only MOSS males can participate. If you are female, you can have a male relative submit a sample for your line. To participate meaningfully, you will need to share your direct male lineage back to the earliest known ancestor, as a family tree (excluding living persons). Participants are grouped according to dendrogram and not solely based upon ancestral claim. Ultimately, we are related to the individuals in our match list at levels Y37 and above. They may not all share the same surname. A dendrogram (http://scaledinnovation.com/gg/clustering.html) is an excellent tool to further refine our search by illustrating where certain lineages branch.
