About us

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to use DNA analysis of the Y-chromosome to determine the descendants of the MORSE / MOSS families who entered the middle and southern colonies(including Maryland) in the 1600s and 1700s. One of these lines connects to the William MORSE and Anthony MORSE and Obediah MORSE lines of Massachusetts, as determined by the Morse Society. We also want to test participants representing lines from the United Kingdom in order to find the origin of our American lines. Our goal is to discover the relationships among the MORSE / MOSS groups scattered over early Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and elsewhere and identify their y-DNA links in the United Kingdom. Objectives: *Find Y-DNA participants. *Share Morse research. *Analyze Y-DNA markers. *Identify y-DNA links in the U.K. *Produce a completely-sourced concluding manuscript.
