This YDNA surname project exists for the benefit of Millers: 1) who live outside the British Isles, but know, believe, or suspect our ancestral Miller roots originated in the British Isles; 2) from the British Isles who would like to connect with their Miller cousins around the world. In other words, this YDNA surname project exists to benefit Miller genetic genealogists around the world who have one common connection – real or potential heritage in the British Isles. If you are not sure that you have Miller roots in the British Isles but suspect that you may, please submit a Join Request! As children, many of us were told “Miller is German” or “We are English, or Scottish, or Scots-Irish” or “We don’t know where we came from”. But venturing into genetic genealogy raised questions -- new possibilities. Using YDNA testing, our goal is to identify all of the Miller lines with origins in the British Isles, providing a platform for Millers everywhere to validate their origins and to connect back to the Isles, or outward from the Isles, or to our Miller cousins that we link to through the Isles.
