"Miller - South Blue Ridge Mtns" is a YDNA project dedicated to providing a means for genetic genealogists to confidently unravel the various Miller paternal lines that have roots in the Blue Ridge Mountain area of North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. Family trees, especially those with common surnames such as Miller, often become incorrectly intertwined due to errors and assumptions that are copied and pasted, promoting an appearance of accuracy. YDNA provides a means to validate correct paternal lines, and a means to invalidate erroneous paternal lines. Whether validating good work, invalidating erroneous work or providing direction for further research, YDNA is instructive. YDNA data, used wisely, points research in the right direction without bias. The purpose of this project is to provide a tool for Miller genetic genealogists to build strong foundations upon. In order to join the project requesters must: 1) be a biological Miller YDNA tester able to demonstrate that their Miller paternal line has roots in the south Blue Ridge Mountain area; or 2) manage the kit of a biological Miller YDNA tester and be able to demonstrate a valid connection to the project's purpose. The Join requirement exists for one reason only -- to maintain the focus of the project for the benefit of its members.
