The Middaugh Surname DNA Project has multiple goals and more will be added over time. The most important goal we have is to help men and women, descended from any Middaugh line, discover their close and deepest ancestral roots within their individual family trees. Here is a summary of the project's goals:

• Who was the father of Anthonis Gherits Middach, born around 1480 in Holland? Gherit Middach?
• What geographic area or country did the Middach line migrate from to Holland? Scandanavia?
• Discover if there is a relation between one of the Middaugh lines and the Van Middachten and Van den Hill lines.
• Build genetic 'fingerprints' of what our ancestors' DNA might have been. This will provide evidence that will help participants and researchers more accurately determine our "Middaugh" surname ancestry.
