As of May 2007, we have received the results of 14 tests. 13 of the 14 are a 100% match with the one test matching on 11 of 12 male DNA markers. I spoke with Family Tree DNA as to what this last test result means. This test is also a match given the surname, place of origin, 11/12 markers matching and the non-matching marker being one of the gene sequences known for mutating more quickly than the others. It is quite likely that if we tested an older member from this tree, we would receive a 100% match as the mutated gene may have occurred int he last generation or two.
