The McIntosh Family Project is open to all who are interested in working together to find their common heritage as Highlanders and within Clan Mackintosh, through sharing of information and DNA testing. All variant spellings are welcome and all with a link to Clan Mackintosh and Clan Chattan. The Clan tradition has the surname being adopted by a son of a Macduff, Thane or Earl of Fife. The family of Weems, Weyms, Wemyss are considered inheritors of the title so may be related to branches of Mackintosh.
