The Maurer Family Project is open to all who are interested in working together to find their common heritage through sharing of information and DNA testing. The primary purpose is as a Y-DNA project, for men having the Maurer surname (or variant, Mowrer, Mowery, etc.), OR men seeing the majority of their matches have that surname. All variant spellings are welcome. If your Surname is missing and should be included, we'll be glad to add it. Membership has been open to all, and currently remains so. But it is now required you submit a request stating a little about your Maurer heritage, and/or why you are interested in joining. If you are a Maurer (et. al.) male, include what you know about (at least) your great grandfather, great great, etc. If you have a different connection to a Maurer, describe that. This information is not visible to other project members or to the public.
