A number of Mardis and variant surnames can be traced back to VA, but have yet to be linked to the immigrant, Thomas Marders. These lines include those that migrated from VA to KY, OH, PA, SC and possibly other states. The primary goal of this project is to establish which of these lines actually descend from Thomas Marders, who migrated to VA from England in 1676.
