Another may refer to the Mehar's from Punjabi/Sindh Clan from Dadu District bordering Balochistan. Mahir, is also Arabic for a Skilled/Professional person. There are also Mahars, from Maharashtra in Southern India. I've also read that there are those with the name Meir/Meyer/Mayar, who are of Jewish descent.
