The MacVicar DNA Project is open to anyone with a MacVicar ancestor and a suitable Y-DNA donor who is a direct-line MacVicar. All spelling variations are welcome—McVicar, McVikker, Vicars, etc. Direct-male-line MacVicars can order a Y-DNA 37-marker test (Y37) or even better, the Big Y which offers the best information and tools. Y-DNA from an appropriate MacVicar male can offer valuable information for your family tree.
