This YDNA project centralizes, connects, informs, and assists surname LUCK (or variants) genealogy. Variants include: Lauck, Lockey, Lokey, Loucks, Louk, Luck, Luckett, Luckey, Luckham, Luckie, Luke, Lukecsa, Lukei, Lukye. There exists a separate project for the surname of Lucas. DNA tools of Y-DNA have clarified relatedness and lineage pedigrees tremendously. In promoting DNA testing for genealogy & trying to keep research as up-to-date as possible, we follow the ISOGG (International Society of Genetic Genealogy). Expectations are: 1. to provide name and a date of an earliest surely-known ancestor in your line, 2. (it is suggested) to maximize connectedness with an autosomal test. 3. to attempt maximized Y-DNA testing on a male in each distinguishable lineage, 4. to support others' DNA testing for genealogy. The surname Luck (and its variants) was given to someone with father, grandfather, or earlier male ancestor. We will find Luck (and variants) who aren't related & close paternal relatives with different surnames.
