Obtain Y-DNA test results from as many males bearing the surnames of  Loftin, Loften, Lofton, Loftus, Loftis, Lofthouse, Lofting as possible in order to compare their markers and Haplogroups. 

Have all men within the group test for and determine their terminal SNP.

Have all men within the project obtain at least a 37 marker Y-DNA test and preferably a 111 marker test for more accurate comparisons.

Determine the most common distant paternal ancestors country of origin outside of the United States.
