Lisle families are seen in the present day with
a number of different spelling variations : Lisle, Lysle, Lyle, Lile, Lyall, Lyles, Liles, or some other variation on these surnames. This project has spilt off from the Liles surname project to focus families with a known Scottish, Scot-Irish, or Northern English ancestry. Genealogy research has also shown that persons with Lisle, Lysle, or Lyle surnames originating anywhere in the United Kingdom seem to have common origins.
