Our project welcomes anyone with a lineage that connects to the Lee Family of Bacon County, GA and any ancestors to this line. John Lee R.S. was born circa 1750-1760 in North Carolina. This family were among the early settlers of Appling County, GA as enumerated in the 1820 Census.

This line in GA does not have a paper trail genealogy proving a connection to the Lees of New Hanover County, NC. However, we have autosomal and Y-DNA results that link to the David Lee family of New Hanover County, NC.
David Lee was born abt. 1690 and was either the original Lee immigrant for this line or born in NC or VA. He married Mary Sullivan, the daughter of Darby Sullivan.

James Lee abt. 1723 m. Unknown – (this is a potential ancestor connecting the Bacon County Lee’s to NC. Deeds show there was a James Lee living in the New Hanover County, NC area during the appropriate time frame).
