The administrator's earliest known ancestor originates from the Parish of Trinity, in Jersey, Channel Islands. In 1851, Josue Le Masurier, his wife and older children, moved from Jersey to Clapham, Surrey, England, where more children were born. In 1870, two sons emigrated to Ontario, Canada, where one remained. The other moved to Minnesota, USA. A third brother went to New Zealand, and later removed to Manitoba, Canada.
