About us

To establish family connections and expand research by enlisting the participation of as many JOHN family lines as possible. The testing will be for the male Y-chromosome that is passed only from father to son. This requires a male with the surname of JOHN or its variant. If you are a JOHN descendant and your surname is not JOHN or if you are a female family member, you will need to have a male relative with the JOHN surname (or variant spelling) participate. Ideally, two descendants of every line are desirable for testing purposes to provide the genetic standard, but one is a good start. Sharing your pedigree chart to your earliest known JOHN ancestor is important to this project.
