About us

Currently, those testing positive for L1253, have origins intermediately in Ulster and historically in the Border area between Scotland and England.  As the L1253 Ulster folk were mainly planters from the Elizabethan and Jacobean Plantations, it is reasonable to extrapolate that these too had medieval origins in the Scottish borders.  It is interesting to note that, like ourselves, springing from the older branching of our tree BY65 (1,600 years old), our cousins under BY93 (750 years old) comprise mainly English families such as, inter alia, Baker, Corder, Crouch and Robinson.
