The purpose of this project is to determine whether people with surnames beginning with the letters ISER... or similar sounding letters share a common male ancestor within the last 600-800 years. Men with surnames simalar to the following are encouraged to join the project: Issar, Isar, Izar, Issroff, Isseroff, Issarov, Isserow, Isroff, Isserl, Isserlis, Isserles, Isserlin, Israel, Esrov, Essrow, Ezrow, Esser. According to many sources these names are all derived from Israel.
