The project was begun in 2003 and is presently 363 members strong. Hollands worldwide are invited to join us in this project to connect families through DNA testing. When paper records cannot be found, DNA may reveal links to known Holland lineages. We welcome those who have taken any DNA test at Family Tree DNA, but the main focus is Y-DNA which is passed from father to son. We also use autosomal DNA which Family Tree DNA refers to as Family Finder and which is inherited from both parents. Our purpose is to find common ancestors among the branches of Holland families everywhere and any spelling of the name. We strive to find clues to immigration patterns.
