This project seeks to determine whether all people who carry the surnames Henly, Henley, Hendley and other variations come frm one common root or many. In the 1881 census the various surnames are spread throughout many parts of England, but predominately the South-West (Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, Gloucestershire) and the South-East (Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London, Hamphire). Some people think that all lines may trace back to Kent in the 13th century.
