2013: Results Updated at: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/hartley/?iframe=ydna

The main Hartley YDNA A-series SNPs were discovered and registered by William Hartley by
processing .BAM files and analysing Y-genome sequencing results. The main source came from
FTDNA Big-Y. The Hartley Branches, A11132, A4634, A17266 etc, were all discovered this way.
There are even more new SNP Branches waiting to be discovered. The only way to discover those
new SNPs is by members of the newly predicted Hartley Branches to do Y-genome sequencing, such
as Big-Y. The new SNPs and Branches produced will add to our knowledge and understanding of
Hartley genetic-genealogy. This Project will eventually be able to produce one big Hartley Tree,
merging genetic research with traditional Family Trees produced by members.

This project was established in June 2007 to further our knowledge of Hartley DNA. So far, that
research has produced over a dozen known YDNA Branches.
