The Halsall Project is a Y dna project The ancestry of the U.S. Halsells is unknown before 1720. Thomas Halsell, who was born about 1720, & his sons are the ancestors of the Halsells in the U.S. These Halsells match the Y chromosome signature of Halsalls in the area of western Lancs between Liverpool & Preston. The Halsall line in England can be traced to before 1200 in the vicinity of Halsall & Lydiate. We welcome English Halsalls to the Project.
