About us

We would like to find out whether some, if not all, Halperns have a common ancestry. In particular, we would like to see what percentage of living male Halperns now descend from one of the older rabbinic Heilperin families, originally of Germany, and then migrating into Eastern Europe throughout the 16th and 17th centuries.

We are also related in the origins of families that historically have deep connection to the Heilperin family of Germany. These are specifically, the Wertheim, Rubenstein, and Guggenheim families.
