About us

First results show that the Haesen of Gronsveld are related to the Haesen of Cadier en Keer, Gulpen and Margraten / Ijzeren.

Results also show that there are two distinct groups of Haesen, not related to each other :

1. The Haesen of Geel, who can trace their ancestry back to the 16th century,

2. The Haesen of Gronsveld, Cadier en Keer, Gulpen and Margraten who can trace their ancestry back to the late 16th century in Margraten and Ijzeren. The common ancestor between the Haesen of Gronsveld and those of Cadier and Keer / Gulpen has not been found yet, but we are close!

It seems that the surname "Haesen" originating in Limburg comes from somewhere around Margraten.

We need more people to get tested.
