About us
There has been ongoing interest and communication in developing the genealogy of the various Goodson families in the USA, their migration in the USA and in the linage back to Europe.
The objectives of this Goodson project are to assist in identifying others who are related, validate current existing research, prove or disprove theories regarding ancestry, helping to solve brick walls in ongoing research and to uncover areas for future research.
This project will sort project members in to groups, in order to better understand genealogical/phylogenetic relationships. These groups will be based on the Haplogroups (and sub-groups) mentioned in 'Background'. Placement in these groups is dependent on the project member having a green confirmed haplogroup by being a close genetic match to a haplotype in one of these groups. Project members with a predicted red haplogroup and with less than 37 markers will be assigned to ‘Predicted Haplogroup – More Markers Needed’.
