This project is ONLY for those who can BOTH trace their ancestry back to Germany (or other Geographic area that is close like Alsace or Prussia), and those who also have Jewish ancestry or are in a Jewish haplogroup where it is evident that most of your matches are Jewish. If you are not in BOTH, we will have to remove you from our project unless you can write us and let us know why you think you belong in this project. This is a Y-DNA only project. Do not join if you have not done Y-DNA or have not received a Y-DNA SNP assignment from Family Tree DNA based on your autosomal DNA. Also do not join if you have only done Mitochondrial DNA, are female (as you do not have Y-DNA) or are joining merely because some line other than the direct male line you have Jewish German ancestry. This project will be of no value to you. Our members will be sorted into haplogroups with their closest Y-DNA matches. We can also help you figure out what other projects may be of value to you and suggest additional testing if appropriate.
