About us
My name is Jane Gilbert, and I assumed management of the Gant-Gaunt project on 3/5/2015. Many thanks to Terry Barton at World Families who created the project in 2006, and to tireless Gant/Gaunt researchers David L. Gaunt and Cliff Gant who took the helm at various points thereafter.
The primary focus of the project is the use of Y-DNA to piece together the various lines. I also welcome Family Finder tested Gant-Gaunt descendants, but I have no way of displaying in-project matches. Helpfully, however, individuals themselves can check for Family Finder matches within a project. Below are instructions:
As mitochondrial DNA has no relevance to surnames for more than one generation, nothing is done with mtDNA results in the project. People with mtDNA results looking for relevant projects are best advised to seek out a geographic or ethnic project.

- Put your cursor over the My DNA option on the main toolbar, and then over Family Finder
- Left click on Advanced Matching
- Check off Family Finder, and then in the drop-down box for "Show Matches For" change the selection from "The Entire Database" to the project you're interested in.
- Click the orange "Run Report" button
