The project goal is to evaluate relationships among descendants bearing the surname, or whose ancestor had the surname, as well as descendants of other families known to be linked to the Friedlander family. Of particular interest are the Friedlander families from the Suwalki region of northeast Poland and the bordering towns in southern Lithuania (Virbalis, aka Werballen or Wierszbelowe and nearby towns including Kaunus), from the Baisogala area of Lithuania, and from Kaliningrad aka Koenigsberg.
